Local attractions

The Union Language Centre is located within an area of outstanding beauty. In close proximity to the Centre are 50 miles of spectacular beaches and coastline. There are the imposing castles of Bamburgh and Alnwick, which also contains the renowned Alnwick Garden.

Holy Island (Lindisfarne) is another of the many highlights to be found within the area. Regular boat trips also take you from Seahouses harbour to the Farne Island Nature Reserve, one of Britain's most important seabird sanctuaries.
