Polish For Beginners

The Polish course for beginners extends over a week (Monday to Friday), with 25 hours of Polish in a small group, or on an individual basis. You will be learning the rules of Polish pronunciation, the foundations of Polish grammar and up to 400 words, which will be practised through reading, listening and conversation. Although the course is intensive, the atmosphere is relaxed and the pace is dictated by the students - we do not rush over things.

Polish for Post-beginners

This Polish course for post- beginners is designed for those who have either completed our Beginners week, or have previous experience in learning Polish from other sources. The course offers a revision of the basic grammar (covered in the Beginners course), and introduces further aspects of the Polish declension, use of the verb “to go” and the past tense. Vocabulary (up to 400 words) covers time (clock, dates etc.), travelling and transport. You will have an opportunity to speak Polish in a small group and ask questions about grammar or phrases which are relevant to you. Monday to Friday course (25 teaching hours)

Polish Intermediate

This is a 5 day Polish course (25 teaching hours) for intermediate students who have completed the Beginners and Postbeginners weeks, or have learned Polish up to a similar level from other sources. You will study and revise the cases of the noun, the use of the verb in all tenses and use the adjectives, adverbs and prepositions. We will read and discuss Polish texts covering vocabulary on health, holidays, talking about an event in the past. Conversation is at the heart of this course and students are encouraged to use all the Polish they already know and to practise the new grammar and vocabulary.

Polish Conversation Weekend

This Polish conversation course runs through Saturday and Sunday (10 hours of tuition) and focuses on speaking Polish. The group of students consists of those who completed all three previous levels or have equivalent knowledge of Polish and wish to practise their speaking. We read and develop a discussion around current issues, often based on Polish newspaper articles. You will use role-play to prepare yourself to deal with particular situations in Poland (e.g. lost luggage, complaint about a hotel room, etc.). This course offers a very enjoyable way to improve your conversational skills in Polish. If students raise grammar issues, these are explained, but the course is mainly about conversation.
